The Need

Prayer meetings tend to be quite small compared to Sunday services, conferences, and worship nights. Why is this?

Maybe many Christians lack the confidence to pray. Maybe many don’t have a revelation of the importance of prayer. Right now, there is a great opportunity to equip and empower Christians to pray, especially for Christians whose churches do not meet together regularly to pray.

What would the world look like if Christians everywhere were comfortable praying out loud, with confidence and according to God's Word?

Enter The Prayer Grid

The Prayer Grid (TPG) is a Tears & Oil initiative that aims to be part of the solution to this great need.

We envision the Body of Christ empowered by the Holy Spirit, growing and sustaining a strong, mature prayer life. Our mission is to strengthen the prayer life of God’s children by equipping the saints to pray both individually and collectively within a supportive community.

We will fulfill our mission by mobilizing, activating, and training Christians to teach others the power of prayer and intercession through regular small group gatherings known as Prayer Cells.

ANYONE CAN JOIN!

Prayer Cells

Unity
Prayer Cells can be in-person or virtual, facilitated by 1-2 leaders. Though we recommend Prayer Cells last 30 minutes, we leave the time length up to the discretion of the Cell Leader. We pray according to our Christian beliefs.

Closeness
Prayer Cells are kept small and intimate with a max of 5 or 6 people. Prayer Cells can be composed of Christians going to the same church, to different churches, or a combination of both.

Growth
When Prayer Cells regularly exceed 5-6 people, we recommend that they–like physical living cells–multiply by dividing. Leaders will then nominate a potential Cell Leader.

Why Cells?
Every living thing is made up of cells. Cells are the substance by which living things have life in the natural. Just so, prayer is the expression of faith, and faith is the life and breath of the supernatural.

The Prayer Grid (TPG) is made up of Prayer Cells. Prayer Cells are simply a time of prayer where people come together to pray for the needs that God has placed on their hearts and for each other. The focus of a Prayer Cell is primarily prayer, not Bible Study or fellowship. People are encouraged to join a Bible study and fellowship at their local church.
